Great Aspirations!!!

It was night with dim light. I heard some sound and guessed, ‘might be some one pounding stone.’ Unwondering my presence in an unfamiliar land, I went in search of the source. Finally, I found a lady carving in stone. I got closer and noticed that it was a 'face'. Meanwhile, she greeted and offered me to sit on a nearby rock …

I felt strange, but nodded to her wish on narrating stories. She began, “A man assumed himself as highly ambitious. Even he did nothing much noticeable yet, had utmost belief that something great would be performed in his life time. He spent time looking for great things, he could work upon… One day he got a ‘wheel’. That was life! It suggested him to handle it as he wishes.He didn’t ponder much beyond, but started running behind, moving it with hands. Even not minding the route, road, he just went up as it proceeded.

Now, wheel caught up all the mud and dirt and there stood a man instead. Pausing his speed, he uttered, ‘You thought of doing great things, but never kept in mind that things which are precious are considered great, But great things can’t be done with a sense of making things great. You failed, when, was provided with ‘Life’ itself to handle. Now it’s all over and time is up’. He disappeared.”

I was listening with great wonder and she continued… “ Another, highly aspired as the first, was bestowed with an empty book and a pen as ‘life’. He could write one page per a day, even if he wouldn’t the page turns the next day. As he was a ‘great soul’, he can’t write anything non sense! So he went exploring profound aspects. The days went on, but he didn't write a letter! When only the last page was left, something clicked, while he was about to note, the book vanished and a man appeared in place. He stated, “Great things are performed after great mistakes. until you understand the greatness or importance of mistakes, you can’t ever make any thing greater out of your knowledge!"

with no pause she started another story… “ It’s life of a greedy man. He brought home and piled every thing considered 'precious'. He was busy buying things than looking those dumped in house. One day when he returned, a man stopped him at the door and yelled, ‘No matter what you brought today, there is no place to keep a pin inside! You focused only on 'desires' but not on the capacity of your home. All the precious stacked inside are now for no use! Now, how can I allow you to step in? All your accomplishments made you stand out of your own home!’” After that, she challenged me to narrate one…I went dumb….
